The CYIENT vijAIpatha initiative was launched by Nirmala Sitharaman in Hosapete, Karnataka, in partnership with the Department of Education, Government of Karnataka, to strengthen AI and STEM education in government schools. Implemented as a pilot across five government schools in Vijayanagara district, the initiative is designed to empower more than 2,000 students from Classes 6 to 10 and build the digital teaching capacity of over 100 educators. Each participating school has been equipped with a fully functional AI–STEM laboratory comprising computer systems, IoT-enabled devices, robotics and STEM kits, and broadband connectivity. The program emphasizes experiential learning through hands-on workshops, project-based learning, and innovation challenges, enabling students to apply AI concepts to real-world community problems. Aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, Digital India, and Viksit Bharat 2047, CYIENT vijAIpatha seeks to bridge the digital divide in underserved communities while nurturing curiosity, problem-solving skills, and future readiness among young learners. The initiative represents a replicable and scalable model for integrating AI education into the public schooling system.
